We are proud to announce the First Annual Tempe Triathlon Festival (formerly the Arizona Kids Triathlon)! The event will take place at Kiwanis Park in Tempe, Arizona.
The Tempe Triathlon Festival will take place on March 15th, 2015 at Kiwanis Park in Tempe, AZ. We are proud to offer the following events for youth, junior and adult athletes:
Youth and Junior Development triathlon (non-drafting, USAT age specific distances)
Youth and junior specific distances that are age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate. Both development races will start with a pool-based “serpentine” swim of 100 yards for youth athletes (5-11 years old) or 200 yards for junior athletes (12-19 years old). Athletes will then transition to a 3-mile (youth) or 6-mile (junior) bike course and then a 0.5 mile (youth) or 1.0 mile (junior) run.
Youth and Junior USA Triathlon F1 draft legal triathlon (super sprint)
Youth and junior F1 draft legal race will start with a pool-based “buoy” swim of 300 yards and will then transition to a 6-mile bike course and then a 1 mile run.
